Amazing Encounter with a Leopard Seal

Thanks to PADI Examiner Gary Cruea for passing on this video of a National Geographic photographer's amazing encounter with a Leopard Seal in Antarctica.

The "Deadly Predator" description is regrettable... whoever originally posted this video must have added it.

Paul Nicklen, the NG guy in the story, is coming to Seattle (as well as other cities)! Check out http://events.nationalgeographic.com/events/speakers/2010/04/19/polar-obsession-sea1/

It's a really great series and I can't wait to hear his presentation!

Thanks for the hot tip and the link, David!

That looks like a really interesting event. I checked out the Nat Geo site and that's his only appearance on the west coast. Seattle is very fortunate!

Hmmm, might be time to cash in some of those Alaska Airlines miles I've been saving up.

I think Arctic and Antarctic diving is so fascinating. Have you seen Adventures at the End of the World?
