Has anyone seen the new movie Oceans? I was skeptical at first. I was worried there would be a canned storyline. You know...something like: Leonard the Lonely Whale migrating from Hawaii to Alaska and making new friends along the way. Luckily, Ania from Project AWARE saw the film and told me to stop being such a movie snob and go see it.
Oceans is very much a documentary - not a Disney story. There isn't a story line besides the dramatic story of nature itself. Some of the material is familiar: ethereal jellyfish, migrating whales, adorable sea otters and spinning dolphins. But there is some amazing how-did-they-get-that-shoot footage. One shot in particular - of a diver swimming next to a Great White - really sticks in my mind.
They also have footage of a blanket octopus. I'm an ocean movie nut (big fan of Blue Planet, Planet Earth, etc). and I'd never even heard of this amazing creature.

We saw it on opening day and really enjoyed it. Narration is a tad dull, but the visuals are spectacular.
I wrote a review on my blog. I won't spam you with a link, but if you're interested click my name on this comment.
